Ella co-directed and led Riverdale Neighborhood House’s (RNH) Food and Farm Hub 2023 summer internship for teens throughout the Bronx. This internship is an 8-week program that engages local teens in a dynamic curriculum around food justice and provides immersive experiences in urban greening & community engagement. Using food as a lens to examine other social justice issues, interns gain a deeper understanding of food and environmental justice. The internship takes place between RNH’s urban garden (that Ella managed and developed curriculum around), certified kitchen, and Neighborhood Fridge. Ella co-facilitated field trips to other urban farms and organizations such as New York Botanical Garden’s Edible Academy.
